Who is the REAL loser?

March 10th, 2010

Dear Friends,

Earlier this week, the St. Pete Times named Senate President Jeff Atwater as the loser of the week because of his remarkable transparency flip-flop on his credit card usage.

On the one hand, Atwater claims he would love to reveal his expenditures on his credit card, but on the other hand he says, “he is helpless to make that happen.”

The Times noted this apparent hypocrisy and called him to task on it, noting that the transparency issue lies with only one person…Jeff Atwater…”he can do it himself” the article correctly noted.

But is Atwater really the loser of the week?

When it comes to public accountability…when it comes to honest transparency…and when it comes to taking responsibility for one’s actions, it is clear that the public lost this round.

No, Jeff Atwater was not the true loser this week, the people of Florida were.

And you deserve better!

You deserve a candidate who will offer an honest commitment to full transparency.

You deserve someone with a passion for holding everyone – especially one’s self – accountable to the public.

You deserve a CFO who strongly supports honesty in all transactions, accountability to the public and an openness that will restore public trust.

Join us in calling for Jeff Atwater to come clean on his credit cards.

Join us in taking on the status quo of cover up and concealment.

Sincerely,

Loranne Ausley
